The Swindon Home Advice Service provides home seekers across Swindon with information on rented accommodation, affordable housing and supported housing. The service also offers information on other advice services that may be able to help you remain in your current home, or move to a new home. You can also browse accommodation options and advice pages on a range of housing and social issues.

Registering with the service enables the team to assess your circumstances and advise you on the available housing options in Swindon in which you have expressed an interest.

Supporting People Services

Supporting People aims to make sure people get the housing-related support they need to live more independently, avoiding life in a care home, in hospital, or on the streets. It offers housing-related support to vulnerable people in Swindon, helping them to make a success of their tenancies, or to move to their own accommodation from other places such as prison or hospital. The service is designed for people who have:

  • learning difficulties
  • physical or sensory disability
  • mental health problems
  • difficulty coping because of their age (such as older people, teenage parents or young people)
  • been homeless
  • been in prison
  • drug or alcohol problems
  • HIV/AIDS
  • been at risk of domestic violence
  • offended, or are at risk of offending
  • come to the UK as a refugee
  • a history of tenancy breaking down

The Supporting People Programme only covers housing-related support services, such as help with cooking, paying bills, budgeting and other skills that are central to living independently.
